By tube and rail

The hospital is located a short distance from St Paul's, Barbican, Blackfriars and Farringdon underground stations. St Paul's is served by the Central line, Barbican and Farringdon are served by the Hammersmith and City line, the Metropolitan line and the Circle line, and Blackfriars is served by the Circle line and District line. The nearest National Rail stations are Blackfriars, Cannon Street and City Thameslink and Farringdon, all are located within walking distance of the hospital. Liverpool Street station is a short tube, bus or taxi ride away.

By bus

The following buses stop outside or close to the hospital: numbers 4, 8, 25, 56, 172 and 242.

By car

There are no dedicated car parking facilities for patients or visitors at the hospital; however there is an NCP car park opposite in West Smithfield.

Congestion charging applies in the area, although certain patients/visitors may be exempt. For more information call 0845 9001234 or visit the Transport for London website.

Congestion Charge

St Bartholomew’s Hospital is within the congestion charging zone and all patients/visitors driving to the hospital are therefore liable to pay the charge. A range of exemptions to the charge and discounts are available, including:
