Finance

The following financial services are available to staff:

  • Loans – interest-free season ticket loans and bicycle purchase loans are available to staff.
  • Giving to charity (GAYE) – a tax-efficient, voluntary charitable-giving scheme, which allows you to donate money to a charity of your choice directly through the payroll.

Flexible working - fit your job around your life

Barts and The London offers some of Britain’s most progressive flexible working conditions, enabling you to meet different priorities and interests at different stages in your career. Options include shorter working hours that fit in with the school day, job-sharing and career breaks.  We also offer special leave for caring, paternity, adoption, bereavement and public service.

Legislation, which came into effect in April 2003, gives employees with a child under the age of six, or a child with a disability under the age of 18, the statutory right to request flexible working. The Trust already goes further than this, offering all staff – not only those with parental responsibilities – the right to request flexible working.

To coincide with the new statutory arrangements, the Trust is developing a new flexible working policy and a procedure for dealing with such requests from staff, supported by training courses for managers.
