HASPEL Project

The Health and Science Pathway East London (HASPEL) Project, has been in operation for just over two academic years, and is run jointly between Tower Hamlets College, Tower Hamlets Primary Care Trust and Barts and The London NHS Trust.

The scheme allows young people aged 16-19, the opportunity to work within a health and science environment while gaining a related qualification at college.

The scheme is intended to inform candidates future career choices while continuing their education and allowing them to achieve a qualification. The optimal aim of the project is to filter students' interests, so that they become keen to pursue professional roles within the NHS, viewing health and science fields of work as attractive career options.
