ACE placements

ACE placements is a voluntary placement scheme for local people who are either unemployed or underemployed and who wish to gain experience of working within the NHS, with a view to applying for a job here.

The scheme gives local candidates the opportunity to gain an insight into the Trust's procedures and policies, and to provide them with on the job training. This equips them to competitively apply for posts in the Trust. An ACE placement gives candidates the opportunity to try a role that interests them to see if they enjoy it.

ACE placements are for non clinical placements only.

Who can apply?

Local people who are unemployed or underemployed; applications are welcomed from any person in this category.

Applicants come from many backgrounds and the scheme attracts a wide variety of people including school / college /university leavers, parents returning to the workplace having raised their family, older applicants who want to use their transferable skills in a different environment, or people who have been away from the workplace for a period of time for whatever reason.

We aim to offer placements to anyone who is motivated, committed and interested in working within the Trust.

Additional information

Candidates are required to adhere to Trust policies, especially those relating to confidentiality, equal opportunities and health and safety. Time keeping and attendance are monitored during the placement, and both candidate and supervisor are given the opportunity to provide regular feedback. An interview may take place with a placement supervisor before the commencement of a placement and pre-screening will be required.
