Research and Development

Welcome to the web pages of the Joint Research Office for Barts and The London NHS Trust and Queen Mary’s School of Medicine and Dentistry.

We want to help you get your research off the ground as quickly and easily as possible.  We will provide you with help on costing a project and getting through the approvals process as well as offering statistical advice and training in research governance and good clinical practice.  As your research activities will hopefully continue over many years, we want to offer you as much support as we can.

We would encourage you to come and meet the team in our new offices in Walden Street where we can discuss your research needs. Just give us a ring and arrange to pop in and a member of our team will be happy to talk you through the research processes.

NIHR Portfolio and The Co-ordinated System for gaining NHS Permissions (CSP)

The NIHR Portfolio has been live since April 2007 and the Joint R&D Office has been working with investigators to get their studies adopted.  The second part of this process, the CSP system, is now ready to go live on 18 November 2008.

For information on what the portfolio is, how to get your study adopted, the benefits of having your study on the portfolio, and details on what the CSP system is and how it affects you as a researcher, please view the NIHR Portfolio pages.
