About us
Barts and The London Maternity Service is located at The Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel. We provide a service to women in Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Newham and parts of
Our maternity services are open to all women. Usually you will be referred by your GP but this is not essential to access our care. Please contact our Antenatal Clinic on 020 7377 7431 or contact your local midwife at your GP surgery.
We recognise that expectant mothers require very special attention during their pregnancy. Our team is dedicated to helping you through your pregnancy and birth and providing the best care to suit your individual needs.
Pregnancy specialists
Our service is able to call on a wide range of expertise which benefits all our patients. Most pregnancies are low risk but we also have the expertise to support mothers with the most complicated pregnancies.
Our obstetric and gynaecology consultants are supported by a multidisciplinary team consisting of expert anaesthetists, midwives, and specialist nurses. Additionally, particularly in the case of high-risk pregnancies, we have the services of many other specialists.
Seamless service
We want to ensure that women are kept fully informed at each stage of their pregnancy and are reassured and supported throughout. We feel that teamwork is critical to the quality of our service so that women using the service experience a multidisciplinary and seamless approach – receiving care from the midwifery team, doctors and other health professionals as required.
