One of the leading heart specialist centres in the UK

Over the course of the year, Barts and The London Heart Centre treats or operates on around 9,000 people with heart problems - including some of the most seriously ill patients in London. The high concentration of complex cases we see means that we have some of Britain’s leading specialists on our team. Their expertise benefits all our patients, including those coming in for more routine heart procedures like coronary bypass and valve operations. Our teaching hospital status means that we have a higher proportion of doctors and nurses to patients than non-teaching hospitals, which also helps to assure the best clinical care for our patients.
