The Trust’s Smarten Up campaign, is designed to make our hospitals more pleasant places for patients, staff and visitors. The campaign is a key element of the Pathfinder strategy to deliver excellence in all that we do across clinical quality, service efficiency and patient experience, and applies to everyone working in the Trust.

The Smarten Up campaign was launched in October 2004 with a range of initiatives to improve the physical appearance of our hospitals and new policies to promote the highest standards of professionalism across the Trust.

  • A pledge to Patients, Visitors and Colleagues has also been launched which sets out a framework of standards for the way staff are expected to behave towards patients and visitors, how we expect staff to behave towards each other and the behaviour we expect from patients and visitors.
