Early bird blood service

Location Whitechapel Walk-in Centre, The Royal London Hospital

An ‘early bird’ phlebotomy (blood) service is available for adult patients only at the Whitechapel Walk-in Centre opposite the Accident and Emergency Department at The Royal London Hospital.

The service, is available Monday to Friday, 7am-8am. It is open without appointment to all those with a valid blood test request form. Patients should report to the reception desk on arrival.

Please note, the clinic is not able to take blood for the following:

  • Those without a valid blood test request form
  • Children/adolescents under 16 years old - this service is provided by the paediatric phlebotomy service (see details above)
  • Glucose tolerance tests.

We regret that as we cannot extend the clinic beyond 8am, we will not be able to do blood tests for any patients still waiting at that time. To avoid unnecessary inconvenience, we will endeavour to close the list to new patients as soon as we think the clinic has reached capacity.
