2006/09 objective: ensuring that we are a preferred provider for our catchment population and achieving excellence in healthcare delivery, with a focus on safety and innovation

Two years on from the launch of Barts and The London’s Pathfinder clinical strategy, we continue to make significant progress towards our vision of achieving excellence in everything we do.  This is reflected in the important strides we have made during 2005/06 in improving clinical quality, the patient experience and service efficiency – our core criteria for success.

The strategy is being taken forward through key objectives over the next three years.  These objectives form the structure of our annual report, and we will continue to report progress against them.

While being hospitals of choice is one of the objectives, each has an important influence on our reputation and success.  In this section, we highlight the factors that have the greatest influence on how we are perceived – clinical quality, the patient experience and safety and innovation.
