Equality and Diversity

Barts and The London serves one of the most diverse populations in the UK in respect of language, culture, religion and ethnicity, and seeks to reflect this in our workforce. No form of discrimination is tolerated within our hospitals, and we have policies and initiatives in place to respect, support and promote awareness of the diverse needs of patients, staff and visitors. The Trust's equalities work is led by the Equality and Diversity Steering Group which reports to the Trust Board.

The Trust’s commitment to promoting equality of opportunity is outlined in our five-year strategy document.

Barts and The London has two equality schemes

The Trust is working towards a single equality scheme that will bring together all aspects of equality and diversity including gender, age, religion and sexual orientation along with race and disability equality.
