Dr Eddie McAteer our Training Programme Director (TPD) will help you to organise your modular training to achieve the specialist training as required by the College.  Dr McAteer is a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist at the Barts and The London NHS Trust.

Dr Helen Drewery and Dr Chris Sadler are the Deputy Training Programme Directors.

Lucy Hamer, Anaesthetic Training Co-ordinator
Lucy Hamer

Lucy Hamer, our Anaesthetic Training Co-ordinator, on most occasions will be your first point of contact with the School.  Lucy will be able to answer many of your questions and happy to point you in the right direction if she is unable to help.  Lucy is pivotal in our communication links with you, the trainee, and with the rest of the School.

The Regional Advisor and Training Programme Directors regularly meet with other members of the consultant staff in the School through the Barts and The London School of Anaesthesia Forum.  This consists of the college tutors (one for each hospital), other individuals with a particular interest in training such as lead clinicians in each speciality and consultants from other hospitals within the School.  The School Forum exists to plan the training needs for all our trainees and seeks to develop new opportunities within the school and beyond, such as establishing links with high quality units abroad.  The School Forum reports back to the London Deanery and the Royal College of Anaesthetists which require us to keep a record of all posts, trainees and movements within our School.
