Clinical Biochemistry - Division of Blood Sciences

The Clinical Biochemistry Department is a joint academic and service unit serving the local community in east London and patients from further afield. It also provides specialist services to laboratories across the UK.

Clinical biochemistry offers a 24-hour service. It receives in excess of 500,000 requests each year offering a full advisory and analytical service.

Services available (Clinical Biochemistry)

A full diagnostic service is provided, including:

  • General biochemistry
  • Endocrinology
  • Therapeutic drug monitoring
  • Metabolic disorders.
  • Toxicology

The service work, which underpins the research and development, is nationally and internationally recognised, particularly for its work in the fields of endocrinology.
